Running outlets would be fitted into the run of gutter with the flow of water coming in from both side.

Stopend outlets have a built in blanking plate (stopend) and would be fitted at the end of the gutter with the flow of water coming in from only one side. the stopend outlets universal and can be fitted to either the left or right of the gutter.
